RIGHTEOUS GUIDE MINISTRY, Inc. - otherwise known as RGM, was established in May of 1997 as an in home Bible Study. As instructed we began on a Tuesday Night with a basic bible study from the Book of John. However, God was calling for more from the ministry and after five months of the growing study, it was with the blessing of our then Pastor Dr. Ron Godbolt (Christ Gospel of HM , NC) that we began to launch out into the deep. God soon spoke and encouraged elevation via our mentor (Apostle Robin Thornton, Love Joy Ministry & Everything is Looking Good of Kinston, NC) who walked us through the process of beginning, establishing and directing via biblical protocol, and it was in October 1997 that Righteous Guide Ministry, Inc., held its first Sunday Morning Service. The home was a small 2 bedroom SHACK if you will, that housed the pastor, his wife, their six children, a god-daughter and now the church! The Tuesday Night Bible Study and Sunday Morning Services grew so that they were forced to use the children's bedroom as an overflow for youth ministry. But this didn't last long, as the founder (Vernard L. Whitfield, Jr.) was on the hunt for a larger facility which after diligently searching, he found the building at
348 Old Wilmington Road, where the vision began to unfold! And in April 1998 (Resurrection Sunday) RGM held its first Sunday Service at this facility. The ministry remained there until February 2016, when by the unction of the Holy Spirit it was moved into their current facility at - 2444 Owen Drive, Fayetteville, NC.

THE NAME
The name Righteous Guide Ministry was given to me as I boxed in the military (Ft. Sill, OK, 1981 - 1985). Not understanding then what God was saying the name was kept under wraps until He spoke it again in 1998. Though established with meager beginnings, we despised NOT and moved forward and in the past 20 years, having faced defaults, judgments, church splits, and you name it - it is only by the Grace of God, we have continued to experience great success in God. When we look at the lives that the Lord has allowed us to pour into and see the Miracle Working, Yoke Destroying and Life Changes that have taken place, we know that God has permitted us to continue despite the odds.
